Since started paragliding in 1989, worked as a instructor and factory pilot for Gin Gliders which is the finest paraglider manufacture in the world.  Maengyong has won many championships in domestic paragliding competitions and highly ranked in Paragliding World Cup Leagues.
He holds pilot and master instructor rating in paragliding and specialized in advanced pilot instruction, safety clinics and cross-country soaring techniques.

• Korean Paragliding National League Champion .

1995
